Tideworks introduces terminal gate system
Tideworks Technology, an information technology provider of terminal management and planning systems, has introduced a terminal gate system that brings together gate and terminal data within marine container terminals.
The GateVision system, a combination of software and hardware components, integrates into one user interface the voice communication between the trucker and the marine clerk, digital video information and the terminal operating system.
This means terminal staff are able to collect truck, container, chassis and associated equipment data from cameras located in the gate lanes, the company said.
“This allows terminal operators to move marine clerks from the sometime hazardous and noisy gate lanes and place them in a safer and more comfortable office environment,” Tideworks said.
Based in Seattle, Wash., Tideworks is a subsidiary of Carrix Inc., parent company of marine terminal operator SSA Marine.
