Top L.A.-Long Beach environmental execs awarded leadership awards
A maritime industry group has selected two environmental executives from the neighboring ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles as recipients of the group's first Harbor Association Environmental Leadership awards.
Robert Kanter, the Port of Long Beach managing director of environmental management and planning, and Ralph Appy, the Port of Los Angeles director of environmental management, both received the inaugural Harbor Association of Industry and Commerce awards.
Presented earlier this month, the awards cite both executives' efforts in creating programs and initiatives balancing environmental concerns with port operations and growth.
