TPG NAMES HAARS CFO, PLANS LOGISTICS ACQUISITION
TPG N.V., the Dutch mail, express and logistics company, has named Jan 'J.G.' Haars as chief financial and member of the board of management, effective August 1.
Haars, group treasurer of Unilever, the Anglo-Dutch food and consumer products group, succeeds Peter Bakker, who was appointed chairman and chief executive officer of TPG on Nov. 1.
Bakker told reporters Thursday that the group expected to announce a logistics acquisition in Scandinavia within the next few weeks. The Dutch group has been aggressively pursuing expansion in Europe, and would continue to do so, Bakker said.
Haars has been in responsible for Unilever's worldwide treasury management and insurance policies since 1997.
