TRADEPOINT SYSTEMS OFFERS BROKERS DOCUMENT IMAGING SERVICES

   TradePoint Systems has rolled out its Alliance Imaging, a system that electronically captures and stores documents involved in the customs clearance.

   The electronic documents can be printed from TradePoint's Alliance Import or BreakBulk and Accounting systems. The documents can also be displayed during the file processing, e-mailed, faxed or viewed by a customs house broker's customers or trading partners who use TradePoint's Internet Tracking system.

   The system provides an automated process for naming, indexing, storage and retrieval of electronic document. A second phase, to be released later this month, will extend the system's capability to TradePoint's Alliance Export system, and will provide the capacity to introduce outside source documents into the Alliance Imaging process. The system will be able to receive these documents by fax, e-mail or scanner. A later expansion will allow for automated routing of source documents to business operations staff based upon a predefined set of rules.
