TRAILER BRIDGE RECEIVES VEHICLE MODULE PATENT
Trailer Bridge Inc. said Tuesday it has received a patent from the government for an invention known as a “vehicle transportation module.”
This “VTM” container is a module for receiving motorized vehicles for transportation that is interchangeable between transport modes without the necessity of rehandling the vehicles.
The inventors are Ralph W. Heim, president and chief operating officer of Trailer Bridge; J. Edward Morley, vice president of operations; and P.W. Shahani, a consulting engineer for the company.
Trailer Bridge, based in Jacksonville, Fla., provides coastwise shipping between the United States and Puerto Rico, and trucking throughout the lower 48 states.
