Trane pays fines for U.S. export violations
Trane Export LLC of La Crosse, Wis., has agreed to pay a civil penalty of $5,000 to the U.S. Commerce Department for alleged violations of the country’s export regulations.
Trade Taiwan Distribution Ltd. will also pay a civil penalty of $27,000 to Commerce.
Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security charged that Trane Export shipped commercial air-conditioning machinery to Realtek Semiconductors Co. Ltd. in Taiwan. At the time, Realtek was subject to an agency export denial order for previous violations.
Trade Taiwan Distribution was charged for providing maintenance services on the air-conditioning equipment shipped to Realtek.
