TRANSENTRIC, EURO-LOG FORM U.S/EUROPE ALLIANCE
Transentric, a St. Louis-based supply chain management technology firm owned by Union Pacific Corp., and EURO-LOG, a German logistics software and services provider, have formed an alliance.
Under the cooperation, the two companies will provide the
interconnectivity of Transentric’s message exchange services with EURO-LOG’s Transpo-Net, a European electronic data interchange “clearing center” that enables the secure exchange of data between business partners. Additionally the companies will incorporate Transentric’s supply chain management tools with the EURO-LOG product suite.
EURO-LOG will use Transentric to provide an outlet to extend its services into North America, and Transentric will utilize EURO-LOG to move into the European market.
The software and e-commerce message exchange services provided by this partnership will enable greater visibility for the parties within the supply chain on a global scale, from shippers and carriers to third party logistics providers, consignees and e-commerce enterprises operating domestically and internationally, the companies said.
EURO-LOG, headquartered in Munich, Germany, and founded in 1992, specializes in shipment management and Internet services for the total transport chain and its various components. EURO-LOG also has a U.S. sister company in Philadelphia and a subsidiary in Romania.
Transentric, formed in 1987 and located in St. Louis, serves clients in trucking, paper, agriculture, chemicals, beverage and other industries. Transentric is a part of Fenix Enterprises, a technology holding company formed by Union Pacific.
