Trump extends Cuba national emergency

President Donald Trump on Thursday extended the national emergency on Cuba under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

President Donald Trump on Thursday extended the national emergency on Cuba under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, the White House announced.
The proclamation extends the emergency authority restricting movements of U.S. vessels into Cuban territorial waters, which was last extended by former President Barack Obama in January 2017.
The proclamation authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to make rules and regulations governing the anchorage and movement of any foreign or domestic vessel in U.S. territorial waters that may be used or is “susceptible of being used” for voyage into Cuban territorial waters, and that may create unsafe conditions or result in unauthorized transactions.
