TSA chief Stone steps down
The Transportation Security Administration said Friday that Director David Stone had submitted his resignation, but would stay on through June 1 to help with the transition to a replacement. The Washington Post reported that Department of Homeland Security officials asked Stone to resign.
Stone, a retired Coast Guard rear admiral, has been on the job less than a year after being confirmed by the Senate last June to replace James Loy, who had been promoted to deputy secretary in the department.
