TSA picks security directors for D.C., Philadelphia airports
The Transportation Security Administration named John Lenihan and William Leahy federal security directors at Washington-Dulles International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport, respectively.
Lenihan was director of the Container Security Division at the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection. He served prior to that as special assistant to Asa Hutchinson, the undersecretary for Border and Transportation Security in the Department of Homeland Security.
Leahy has previous airport security and Coast Guard experience.
Both men replace security directors who were removed from their posts for behavioral and management lapses. Charles Brady, the acting FSD at Dulles was arrested in January for drunken driving while he was supposed to be on duty during a Code Orange alert. James Golden was accused of nepotism and allowing lax security practices.
