TSA TAPS UNISYS FOR IT INFRASTRUCTURE
Unisys Corp., an information technology and solutions provider based in Blue Bell, Pa., said Monday it has been awarded a multiyear task order by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration to create an IT infrastructure network for homeland security.
The contract runs for three years and may be renewed by the government for two additional two-year options. The value of initial work orders for Unisys will be $23 million in fiscal year 2002, which ends Sept. 30, and $221 million for fiscal 2003.
Unisys plans a total re-engineering of TSA’s varied legacy IT systems, many of them inherited from other federal entities when the TSA was recently created.
The work was awarded under an Information Technology Omnibus Procurement (ITOP II) contract by the Department of Transportation.
