TUGS INTERNATIONAL TRIES AGAIN AT PORT EVERGLADES
Tugz International, based in Cleveland, Ohio, a tug and towboat operator, is “strongly interested” in making another bid to the Broward County Board of Commissioners to operate in Port Everglades.
James De Simone, senior vice president of Tugz International, said that “we want another'time at bat.” He indicated that Tugz would refile “shortly.”
Tugz wants to end a 43-year-old sole operator franchise held in Port Everglades by Seabulk International (formerly Hvide Marine). The county commissioners recently rejected Tugz’s first application to operate in that port.
