Two more Asia-Pacific ports ramp up for CSI

U.S. Customs and Border Protection will deploy officers to the Asia-Pacific ports of Laem Chabang, Thailand, and Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia, to support operations related to its Container Security Initiative agreements with these countries.

Customs initiated the CSI program in 2002 to help target high-risk container shipments before they are loaded on U.S.-bound ships overseas. CSI is now operational at 24 major seaports across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America.
