TYNDALL RETIRES AS EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF RYDER
Miami-based Ryder System, Inc. announced the retirement of Gene R. Tyndall, executive vice president of global supply chain solutions, at the end of this year.
Ryder has not named a direct successor to Tyndall, but said that it is working on a transition of responsibilities.
Tyndall joined Ryder in 1999 after retiring from a 20-year career with Ernst & Young Management Consulting. Prior to his current role, he served Ryder as senior vice president of solutions development and executive vice president of global markets and e-commerce.
Following Tyndall’s departure, Bobby J. Griffin, executive vice president of global supply chain operations will assume responsibility for Ryder’s international operations in Asia, Canada, Europe and Latin America. Anthony G. Tegnelia, currently senior vice president of business value management, will assume responsibility for U.S.-based business development and “vertical industry” support within Ryder’s supply chain business segment. Griffin and Tegnelia will report directly to Ryder’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, Gregory T. Swienton.
Meanwhile, Ryder’s transportation management solutions group – which provides integrated transportation management services to support both the Ryder supply chain and fleet management areas – will report to Ryder’s senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, Corliss J. (Corky) Nelson.
These changes in responsibility and reporting structure will not impact the day-to-day contacts or customer relationships that exist within these business areas, Ryder said.
