U.S. business leaders press South Korea for trade agreement

In a letter to South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S.-Korea Business Council pledged to push for a comprehensive and commercially viable free trade agreement between the two nations.

“The vibrant commercial relationship between our two countries contributes powerfully to the dynamism of the East Asian regional economy,” said the letter, which was signed by U.S. Chamber Chairman Gerald L. Shaheen and U.S.-Korean Business Council Chairman William Rhodes. “Our two organizations are working vigorously to promote the further expansion of two-way trade and investment between the Republic of Korea and the United States.”
