U.S. Chamber hires transportation lobbyist

   The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has selected Janet F. Kavinoky as director of congressional and public affairs, where she will also be in charge of the business group’s lobbying effort on transportation issues.

   She was also named executive director of Americans for Transportation Mobility, a national coalition of transportation providers and users working to promote investment and improvements in transportation infrastructure.

   Kavinoky was project director for business development and transportation finance at the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials. She has also served as special assistant to the U.S. Transportation Department secretary and a consultant to the California Department of Transportation.

   The Chamber recently hired Lisa Marks as manager of transportation issues to assist Kavinoky.
