U.S. COAST GUARD NAMES FRAGOS-TOWNSEND INTELLIGENCE DIRECTOR
The U.S. Coast Guard has appointed Frances Frago-Townsend to director of intelligence.
In this position, Frago-Townsend will head the agency’s Intelligence Directorate, the Intelligence Coordination Center, and act as program manager for the Coast Guard’s national intelligence effort. “She is charged with enhancing inter-agency and maritime awareness in the war on terrorism,” the
Coast Guard said.
Fragos-Townsend said one of her first goals is to work with Coast Guard leadership and the area commanders to create intelligence priorities that will enhance maritime security operations.
Before joining the Coast Guard, Fragos-Townsend spent 13 years at the Justice Department. She most recently served as the counsel for intelligence policy to the attorney general.
