U.S. considers Bangladesh’s GSP status
The U.S. Trade Representative will consider whether or not to continue duty-free treatment for certain imports from Bangladesh.
The U.S. Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program grants duty-treatment to designated eligible products that are imported from developing countries. Once granted, the president reserves the right to withdraw, suspend or limit the benefits of the program for any designated country.
The USTR will take comments regarding Bangladesh’s future GSP status through May 12. For more information, access online: http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/14mar20010800/edocket.access.gpo.gov/2004/04-8203.htm.
