U.S. Customs closed today

Cargo will be delayed from entering U.S. commerce today because U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be closed in observance of the national day of mourning for former President Gerald R. Ford.

Customs brokers will not be allowed to date entries and duty payments for Jan. 2 because the Automated Broker Interface will treat the day as a holiday. Textile quotas scheduled to go into effect Jan. 2 will now go into effect Jan. 3.
