U.S. DOT SCHEDULES RAIL SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING
The U.S. Transportation Department’s Federal Railroad Administration has scheduled an all-day meeting of the Railroad Safety Advisory Committee in Washington on April 23.
The committee, which consists of 48 voting representatives and five associate representatives drawn from 32 rail-related organizations, helps the Federal Railroad Administration set guidelines for rail safety. Some of these issues include “blue signal” protection, cab working conditions and definition of reportable “train accident.”
