U.S. FOREIGN WATERBORNE TRANSPORTATION STATISTICS RELEASED

   The Maritime Administration and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers said March U.S. foreign waterborne transportation statistics showed a 9 percent increase in imports and a 2-percent decline in exports, compared to March 2000.

   Crude oil and fuel oils accounted for nearly all (96 percent) of the increase in imports.
