U.S. Lines adds South China/U.S. East Coast
U.S. Lines is entering the Asia/U.S. East Coast trade July 15 between Shekou, South China, and New York under a slot-charter agreement with Zim Israel Navigation Co.
The first sailing for U.S. Lines will be the “Zim Shanghai,” scheduled to sail from Shekou on July 15.
The weekly Asia/U.S. East Coast all-water service, known as “ZCS,” provides a transit time of 32 days from Shekou to New York.
Great Western and China Shipping Container Lines also take space from Zim on the “ZCS” vessels in the transpacific trade, according to ComPair Data, the global liner-shipping database. Zim operates 15 vessels of average 4,200-TEU capacities on the ZCS service, which extends to the U.S./Mediterranean trade.
U.S. Lines, which entered the South China/Hong Kong/U.S. West Coast trade last December, said it will exclusively use 40-foot high-cube containers in the China/U.S. East Coast trade lane.
