U.S. PORT SECURITY STATUS AVAILABLE ON WEB
The U.S. Coast Guard is providing information to the maritime industry regarding the status of port security around the country via Internet web sites.
The web sites are: http://www.hklaw.com/maritimedev.asp; and http://www.uscg.mil/safeports .
The Coast Guard continued providing increased security at harbors across the country, including New York and Boston. Since New York harbor reopened, the Coast Guard teams have boarded and inspected at least 211 commercial vessels before allowing them into the harbor.
