U.S., SENEGAL REACH OPEN-SKIES AGREEMENT
The United States and Senagal have reached agreement on an open-skies agreement, following two days of talks in Washington.
The agreement includes a transition annex that limits ground handling opportunities and provides for the phasing in of U.S.-third country carrier code-sharing operations. The transition annex expires on March 31, 2003, at which time all open skies elements will go into full effect.
The United States has open skies agreements with 52 nations, including nine with Sub-Saharan Africa and 10 on the African continent.
