U.S./South Europe July 1 rate date set
The UK-based secretariat of the U.S. South Europe Conference said the next stage of eastbound tariff rate recovery would proceed “against an effective date of July 1.”
The announcement referred to a previous announcement in January in which the USSEC parties “expressed confidence, which still pertains, in trade forecasts in regard to the growth of the export trade from the U.S. Atlantic and Gulf coasts to ports in southern Europe covered by the conference and additionally indicated that the USSEC would continue to monitor trading conditions with a view to implementing tariff rate recovery measures throughout the year.”
Members of the USSEC are A.P.Moller-Maersk Sealand, Hapag Lloyd Container Linie GmbH, and P&O Nedlloyd Ltd.
