U.S. TO CONSIDER DEFENSE EXPORTS TO INDONESIA ON CASE-BY-CASE BASIS
The U.S. State Department said it will consider on a case-by-case basis all requests for export and retransfer of military-related exports and services to Indonesia for ultimate distribution to third-countries.
In October 1999, the State Department suspended all licenses and approvals for exports of military articles to Indonesia, except in certain cases where these articles supported commercial satellites and year 2000 computer issues.
The State Department re-opened the door to Indonesia slightly on Jan. 25, by allowing the review on a case-by-case basis of exports of C-130 aircraft parts to Indonesia
