UAL posts $190 million 3rd quarter profit
UAL Corp., parent company of United Airlines, reported third quarter net profit of $190 million, its second successive profit since exiting Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February.
In the third quarter 2005, UAL posted a loss of $1.77 billion, which included $1.84 billion in reorganization items.
In the latest quarter, UAL had an operating loss of $86 million, compared to a loss of $97 million in the third quarter last year.
Revenue was up 11.2 percent to $5.2 billion from $4.7 billion. Cargo revenue increased 5.2 percent to $183 million from $174 million.
