UNITED ARAB SHIPPING CO. TO SWITCH DUBAI HUB PORT
From January, Kuwait-based United Arab Shipping Co. is switching its hub port in Dubai from Port Rashid to Jebel Ali on two of its direct weekly services.
On the Europe/Mideast/Indian subcontinent/Asia AEC service, the vessel Al Farahidi will make the first call to Jebel Ali when it arrives on Feb. 1.
The AEC service uses ten 3,082-TEU ships and its revised port rotation will be Rotterdam, Thamesport, Hamburg, Antwerp, Gioia Tauro, Jeddah, Jebel Ali, Khor Fakkan, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong, Hakata, Busan, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Jeddah, Gioia Tauro, Rotterdam, Thamesport, Hamburg and Antwerp.
United Alliance members Cho Yang Shipping Co., Hanjin Shipping and Senator Lines charter space on the service. German carrier Hapag-Lloyd takes space on the Europe/Mideast/Indian Subcontinent leg of the service.
The 2,199-TEU vessel Khaled Ibn Al Waleed will make the first call to Jebel Ali on the Mediterranean/Indian subcontinent Mediterranean India Express service when it arrives on Jan. 28.
The MIX service deploys seven ships with an average 2,149-TEU capacity and will have a revised rotation of Genoa, Fos, Valencia, Gioia Tauro, Aqaba, Jeddah, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Karachi, Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, Jeddah, Alexandria, Gioia Tauro, Genoa, Fos and Valencia.
Senator Lines takes space on this service.
