UNITED CARGO TO RAISE FUEL SURCHARGE

UNITED CARGO TO RAISE FUEL SURCHARGE

United Cargo on Tuesday said it will increase its fuel charge to 10 cents per kilogram, from 5 cents, for international shipments, effective Sept. 23.

Additionally, U.S. shipments will increase to 4 cents per pounds, from 2 cents.

The carrier said the increases were based on a fuel index based on global jet fuel prices. The surcharge is adjusted when the index equals or exceeds the indicated level for two consecutive weeks.

The fuel index is published weekly on United’s Web site at: http://www.unitedcargo.com.
