United, TACA file codeshare agreement
United Airlines and the Latin American flag airline consortium, TACA, Monday filed a codeshare agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation.
“We are very pleased to partner with TACA to expand Central America destination options for our customers,” said Graham Atkinson, United’s senior vice president, worldwide sales and alliances. “TACA is a leading airline group in Latin America, and our complementary route networks make this codeshare and frequent flyer partnership an excellent choice. The agreement enables us to improve our service to customers while supporting our strategy of international growth.”
TACA operates 30 Airbus A320 aircraft serving 35 cities in 19 countries in the Americas, with hub operations in San Salvador, El Salvador; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Lima, Peru.
United said it expects regulatory approval for the agreement by the second quarter of this year.
