UNIVAN ADDS SIX SHIPS TO MANAGED FLEET
Univan, a ship management company in Hong Kong, said Tuesday it has taken over full technical management of six more containerships, raising its fleet total to 73 vessels, including 41 containerships.
Univan’s chairman, C.V.J. Vanderperre, said, “we’ve been given all types and sizes of dedicated containerships, from old ones that needed specialized treatment to younger ones where owners wanted to insure that their life span was maximized.”
The latest six vessels will have their existing crews replaced on a gradual basis with Indian masters and ratings from Univan’s own container crew pool.
