UPS ADDS $25 SECURITY MANIFEST CHARGE
United Parcel Service is the latest ocean transportation intermediary to introduce a security manifest charge.
The Atlanta-based company’s supply chain services arm said it will start charging a “security manifest documentation charge” of $25 per bill of lading for international shipments to all ports and points in the United States, effective March 15.
UPS Ocean Freight Services will also charge a correction fee of $40 per declaration if its required to amend any security manifest cargo declaration due to an error, omission or change by the shipper, UPS said.
