UPS LOGISTICS TO MANAGE B2B SUPPLY CHAIN FOR BCCOMPONENTS
UPS Logistics Group., a subsidiary of United Parcel Service, said Thursday it will provide logistics services for BCcomponents, a manufacturer of passive electronic components.
UPS Logistics said it will improve accuracy of orders and reduce delivery cycle time from two weeks to 72 hours.
BCcomponents' line of more than 90,000 passive components, such as capacitors and resistors, are made in Asia, Europe and the United States. The company reports annual sales of more than $400 million.
Imported goods will be sent by air to Dallas where UPS Logistics will handle warehousing, picking/packing, labeling and delivery of more than 100,000 orders per year.
Atlanta-based UPS Logistics said Wednesday it has purchased two service parts logistics providers — Computer Logistics Solutions, based in Sydney, Australia, and Comlasa, based in Miami — that will extend the Group’s plans to build a global service parts network.
The new acquisitions follow an earlier purchase by UPS Logistics of Finon Sofecom in France and the proposed acquisition of the U.S. service parts network of logistics provider Burnham, based in Atlanta.
