UPS LOGISTICS TO MANAGE MOLNLYCKE HEALTH CAREÆS U.S. SUPPLY CHAIN

   UPS Logistics Group, a subsidiary of United Parcel Service, on Wednesday reported a deal with M'lnlycke Health Care Inc. to manage the surgical and would management provider's supply chain in the United States, beginning in May.

   UPS Logistics Group will distribute M'lnlycke's products to about 150 distributors and to more than 2,000 locations including distributors, hospitals, nursing homes and clinics.

   Functions under the deal include order fulfillment, customer service and accounting services for M'lnlycke's surgical and wound management divisions.

   Fulfillment operations to be provided include distribution center management; pick, pack and ship services; and customer returns, to be handled from multi-client facilities in Memphis and Reno, Nev.

   Customer service operations include order management, information management and customer inquiries. Accounting services include invoicing, accounts receivable, charge-back process and order processing. Customer service and accounting functions will both be handled in Harrisburg, Pa.

   M'lnlycke was established in Sweden in 1849 and began serving North America in 1978. The company's surgical division, acquired in June, includes patient and equipment drapes, surgical gowns and wearing apparel under the brand name Barrier. The wound management division provides dressings for chronic, traumatic and surgical wounds under the brand name Tendra.
