USAID proposes updates to Title II food aid program
The U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Food for Peace proposes to update its regulations that govern the transfer of food aid to non-governmental organizations under the Title II, P.L. 480 program.
The agency said the changes were needed to bring the food-aid program in line with legislative changes made by both the 1996 and 2002 Farm Bills, as well as to amend the overall financial and reporting requirements. Title II was last updated in 1992, following the 1990 Farm Bill.
“Changes are expected to update and clarify standard operating procedures, resulting in more efficient and streamlined management of Title II programs,” USAID said.
The agency will take comments regarding the proposed changes through Sept. 18. For more information, contact Lisa Witte at (202) 712-5162.
