USDA MAY LABEL GREECE FREE OF FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has proposed to add Greece to its list of regions considered free of rinderpest and foot-and-mouth disease, but restrictions concerning bovine spongiform encephalopathy, or so-called “mad cow” disease, will remain unchanged.

USDA also proposes to add Greece to the list of regions that are subject to certain restrictions because of their proximity to or trading

relationships with countries with the diseases.
