USDA PLANS MEETING FOR MEAT INDUSTRYÆS B2B DATA STANDARDS GROUP
The U.S. Department of Agriculture will host the first meeting of a voluntary organization that will set electronic supply-chain standards for the meat industry.
The consensus standards group, MeatXML.org, will meet Feb. 22 in Washington. The group's objective is to develop data trading terminology to be used industry-wide to facilities Internet-based business-to-business trading, using extensible markup language, or XML.
