USDA sets fee for 2005 dairy import quota license

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service will charge dairy products importers $200 per license to participate in the 2005 tariff-rate quota year, effective Jan. 1.

Licenses are issued on a calendar year basis, and each license authorizes its holder to import a certain quantity and type of dairy product from a specified country of origin. The license fee is used to help cover the cost for the agency to administer the program.
