USSEC RAISES 2003 WESTBOUND RATES
The United States South Europe Conference (USSEC) announced on Monday the implementation of a three-stage westbound tariff general rate increase for 2003.
The first stage, effective April 1, consists of increases of $200 per 20-ft container and $250 per 40-ft container.
The second phase, effective July 1st, consists of $200 per 20-ft container and $250 per 40-ft container.
For the third stage, effective Oct. 1, 2003, “the quantum to apply will be announced in due course,” the USSEC said.
The Conference is made up of A.P. Moller-Maersk Sealand, Hapag Lloyd Container Linie GmbH, and P & O Nedlloyd Ltd.
