USTR SEEKS COMMENTS ON ANTIDUMPING DISPUTE SETTLEMENT
The U.S. Trade Representative is seeking comments on a World Trade Organization settlement on disputes brought by the European Communities and Japan.
The EC and Japan in 1999 disputed the U.S. Antidumping Act of 1916, in that it was inconsistent with U.S. obligations under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994. WTO dispute settlement panels issued ruling which the United States has to implement by July 26.
Comments should be submitted by April 16 to allow the USTR time to develop a response to dispute settlement panels recommendations and rulings.
