UTI EXPANDS ASIA PACIFIC OPERATIONS
UTi Worldwide Inc., a non-asset-based supply chain management company, has expanded its reach in the Asia Pacific with the opening of UTi Japan, based in Tokyo.
Peter Nagasawa has been named managing director of the new Japan company, which is staffed with Japanese nationals.
Nagasawa has more than 20 years of experience in supply chain management. He joined UTi Worldwide in 1995 as head of the company's representative office in Japan after working for BAX Global there.
The new company will a range of logistics services including supply chain planning and optimization services, air and ocean forwarding, customs brokerage, warehousing and distribution.
'We believe the Asia Pacific region is one of the fastest growing areas globally, and we are now better positioned to leverage our network and geographical reach to increase our market share opportunities in this area,' said Alan C. Draper, president of CTi Worldwide's Asia Pacific region.
