VANCOUVER ENDORSES SALE OF CASCO FACILITY TO P&O PORTS
The Vancouver [Canada] Port Authority has officially welcomed the sale of its Centerm facility to P&O Ports by Casco Terminals Ltd. and Canadian Stevedoring Company Ltd.
Casco Terminals had operated Centerm, one of three container terminals owned by the Vancouver Port Authority. The facility also handles pulp and general cargo.
“We estimate there is an opportunity to triple container traffic and add 55,000 jobs at this port by 2020,” said Capt. Gordon Houston, president and chief executive officer of the Vancouver Port Authority.
P&O Ports is a division of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P&O).
