VELANT NAMES GABLE PRESIDENT
Velant Inc., a logistics technology firm, has named Ron Gable president. Don Ratliff will continue to serve as chief executive officer.
Gable was a business unit manager at consulting firm Scient Inc. Prior to that he was vice president of global supply chain for the Campbell Soup Co., where he led worldwide purchasing, manufacturing, customer service, engineering, distribution and transportation.
Gable also served as managing partner for the manufacturing and supply chain-consulting practice at Coopers & Lybrand LLP, and was a principal with investment house A.T. Kearney, with responsibilities in the company's logistics practice.
Ratliff, a renowned logistics expert who has mentored many of the industries professionals at the Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech, founded Velant three years ago.
