Volga-Dnepr studies cargo hub in Siberia
Volga-Dnepr, a Russian private-sector cargo airline, has signed an agreement for the potential creation of a cargo hub at the airport of Krasnoyarsk in Siberia.
Under the agreement, a trilateral working group will be formed, comprising representatives from Krasnoyarsk territory, Volga-Dnepr and KrasAir airline. The working group’s objectives are to develop a long-term program of regional and international cargo flights via the Krasnoyarsk airport. To achieve this, the group will study the Krasnoyarsk territory’s import and export prospects and its transport infrastructure, as well as the potential of the Volga-Dnepr and KrasAir among other prospective partners.
Based on the results of the analysis, the parties will define ways to develop this transport hub and the cooperation partners to manage the project, Volga-Dnepr said.
