WAL ceases operations
Hamburg-based West-Afrika Linien, a subsidiary of the Rantzau group, has decided to cease its operations effective from October.
The carrier has been a joint service provider between Europe and West Africa with Delmas and MOL on the weekly “Hebdo I” and the every nine days “Hebdo II” services.
The last round sailing that WAL will offer on the “Hebdo I” service will be on the vessel “Julie Delmas” when it departs from Montoir Sept. 6. The last sailing on the “Hebdo II” will be made by the “Kamina” departing Hamburg Sept. 13.
The Rantzau group also own Deutsche Afrika Linien, which operates between Europe, Indian Ocean and South Africa.
