Wallenius Wilhelmsen adds Panama/South America link
Wallenius Wilhelmsen has introduced a South America/Panama shuttle service that will allow the Scandinavian roll-on/roll-off operator to provide two sailings a month to and from South America.
The shuttle service operates between Brazil, Venezuela, Panama, and Colombia. With a round trip of about 28 days, the new service has a rotation of Rio Grande, Brazil; Santos, Brazil; Puerto Cabello, Venezuela; Manzanillo, Panama; Cartagena, Colombia; and return to Rio Grande.
Through its hub in Manzanillo, Wallenius Wilhelmsen can transship to the U.S. East and West coasts, Central America, the Caribbean, Australia, Japan and Korea.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen also runs a service between Brazil, Venezuela, Panama, Mexico and the U.S. Gulf. It has a round-voyage rotation of 36 days and calls at Rio Grande; Santos; Puerto Cabello; Manzanillo; Altamira, Mexico; Galveston, Texas; and back to Rio Grande. Other ports, such as Vitoria and Itaqui in Brazil, will be served on an inducement basis.
