WALLENIUS WILHELMSEN AUSTRALASIA SERVICE TO CALL BALTIMORE
Wallenius Wilhelmsen, an ocean carrier of cars and roll-on/roll-off cargo, said it will call at Baltimore directly on its three-times-a-month North America to Australia and New Zealand service (ANZ).
The company said that Baltimore will replace Norfolk, Va., as a direct port call. Wallenius Wilhelmsen will offer alternate port service from Norfolk for containers.
Last month, Wallenius Wilhelmsen signed a 20-year lease agreement with the Maryland Port Administration to build a new, 50-acre marine terminal in Baltimore. This 100,000-square-foot facility, to be called the Mid-Atlantic Terminal, will open July 1.
