WALLENIUS WILHELMSEN DROPS MOBILE PORT CALL

WALLENIUS WILHELMSEN DROPS MOBILE PORT CALL

Wallenius Wilhelmsen, an ocean carrier of vehicles and project cargo, said it has removed Mobile, Ala., from the North America/Europe leg of its round-the-world service (NH service).

As an alternative, the carrier’s vessels will call at New Orleans, about 150 miles from Mobile.

“As a result of changing cargo patterns in our trade lanes, it is no longer operationally feasible to call at Mobile,” said Gary R. Jones, vice president of operations for Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
