WALLENIUS WILHELMSEN, NYK LINE TO SEPARATELY MARKET SOUTH AMERICA LINK

Wallenius Wilhelmsen and NYK Line said Tuesday they will begin marketing their joint NYKNOS South America service separately, using their established brand names.

The NYKNOS brand name, used since 1994, will be discontinued. However, the scope and profile of the slot charter agreement will be unchanged. The service has the capacity to handled about 5,000 automobiles and calls major ports on both coasts of South America.

The service was established by NYK Line and Norwegian Specialized Auto Carriers. NOSAC was acquired by Wallenius Lines in 1996 and in 1999 the operating activities of Wilhelmsen Lines and Wallenius Lines were merged to form Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
