WALLENIUS WILHELMSEN TO SERVE LONG BEACH/EUROPE TWICE MONTHLY
Roll-on/roll-off specialist Wallenius Wilhelmsen has decided to offer two monthly sailings between Long Beach and North Europe.
One monthly call at Long Beach will be made by the line's new four-ship “Ro-Ro” service between Asia, the U.S. East Coast and Europe. A second monthly connection will be made by a “pure car truck carrier” following the same route.
Alternate vessels in Wallenius Wilhelmsen's twice monthly “Con-Ro” service had called at Long Beach , also following the same route, but these had taken 15 to 20 days longer to reach Europe than the new services, due to their long double-back itinerary on the East Coast.
The service changes will mean the transit from Long Beach to most of northern Europe will be less than 30 days, the line said.
